The Pre School team at BestStart Parklands wanted to share this with you all our wonderful rugby game the children and Nick (one of our teachers) had with our new rugby ball. A group of children and I decided on the rules of the game with Teavin and George deciding on who would be in each team. The object of the game was to run and pass the ball to our team mates with the other team trying to chase us to get the ball.

It was so fantastic to be involved and watch how well everyone worked together to ensure everyone had an opportunity to run with the ball. The older children were so respectful to our younger children making sure they were having a turn as well. What a fun way to spend a Thursday morning and we could tell our children have some great skills in hand-eye co-ordination, gross motor skills moving our bodies to dodge other children trying to get the ball, turn taking, leadership skills and co-operation with others.

The following day Nick noticed a group of children wanting to practice their kicking skills with our new cones and the ball. Nick loved watching everyone work together to try and figure out the best approach to hold the ball in place in order for the children to kick it.

What an awesome time we had I feel we have some future sports stars in the making!!!!!!!
