Our Stardome observatory trip
After the Matariki celebration at the centre, our tamariki were curiously waiting for the trip to Stardome Observatory and today was the most awaited day. All the tamariki were feeling excited about their travel by bus with their friends and teachers. On the way, they sang many songs together with uncountable giggles and laughter. They enjoyed their lunch in the garden with greenery and fresh air around them.
As soon as they entered the observatory, they were spellbound with the rockets, spaceships, astronauts, and other space miniatures. Then came the most interesting part of the trip, where children saw a live demo of the rockets taking off. They were astonished to see the bottles rising high up in the sky and finally, it was time for watching the Matariki Stars in the theatre. They also listened to the Maori stories and watch the Matariki stars, waka, scorpion, and other fascinating eye catchy views.
It was an amazing learning experience for our tamariki and having to go out on an excursion to learn further about Matariki had made it all the more exhilarating.
I would like to thank all the parents who accompanied us on this trip and became a part of this learning experience and also for contributing to making unforgettable memories.
