Our tamariki learn about dog safety!
Janice, our new centre manager, brought her dog to visit the centre today.
Jan talked to the tamariki about dog safety. Children learnt to approach the dog in a calm way and use their gentle hands when stroking it.
Children who previously were nervous around dogs found new courage to pat the dog. This hands-on experience was a wonderful learning outcome for our children and supports our centre philosophy Manakitanga where children are encouraged to respect and care for living things.
