Our trip to the zoo!

BestStart North Harbour's Ara Tuhura Class (babies and toddlers) had it’s first excursion to Auckland Zoo today.  The children enjoy songs and stories about different animals and the sounds they make.  Our kaiako (teachers) thought of planning the trip to support the children’s interests on animals.  The teachers coordinated with the Aukland Zoo and arranged a private bus to cater for the whole class, teachers and parents who wanted to come.  Everyone enjoyed the trip especially the children who saw the animals up close and personal.  This was a great experience for them to see the real animals and connect to the wider world apart from the centre.
