As part of our ‘creative and expressive me’ planning, the nga tamariki have enjoyed exploring role play so this week we thought it would be a great idea to set up a pretend supermarket in Koru Room! The nga tamariki had so much fun shopping, stocking the shelves as well as taking turns to be the ‘shop keeper’ collecting pretend coins. There was lots of communication around what could be brought from the Supermarket and what they were going to use the items for as well as who had the most coins! The children loved sharing what they had brought with their peers and teachers and then restocking their items on the shelves to have another turn! It was a very busy supermarket all week and the children had so much fun exploring spontaneous pretend play!
