We have been exploring our local community recently, and one of our favourite places to visit is our local cafe - where one of our parents works. On this occasion we headed there for a fluffy and morning tea, how lovely it was to have the parent prepare kai for her daughter and peers. The tamariki told us about times they have visited there with their whanau and had fluffies as well, it was great to hear the children make links between the centre and their homes. As well as the local cafe we have explored many other places within our local community, the library, parks and schools. It is so much fun to be able to get out and about in our area. We have recieved so much feedback from locals that they really enjoy seeing the children out in the community. One of our focuses currently is to be more active and seen in our local area, and what better way than with reguar excursions. The children love any opportunity to head out of the centre and explore. We are so lucky to have so many exciting places to head to locally in Mosgiel!
