Outdoor Play in Spring
We are so enjoying the arrival of Aroaro-mÄhanahana (Spring) here at BestStart Buchanans Road. While we firmly believe in playing outside in all weather, when the sun comes out it really is a special thing! We have great outdoor spaces and these provide the opportunity for a huge variety of experiences, including quiet spaces, busy spaces, water spaces and of course our beloved sandpit.
All these great spaces enable our tamariki to explore with our friends. To build; create; use our imaginations; explore. When we are wearing our dress up high heels while playing in the sandpit, imagination and creativity is at its finest. While we roll balls to our friends, we are building relationships with others, working together as a team and finding joy in each other. When we balance across a wobbly bridge we are extending our gross motor skills, spatial awareness and balance. We are always learning through our play!
