Over the past month we have begun our regular excursion of exploring the outdoors in Otatara.  We learnt and practiced the rules of being in the bush:

1. You must always be able to see a teacher

2. If you can't see a teacher, stop and shout "koo wee!"

3. If a teacher shouts stop you must stop

4. Have fun, laugh and learn

Each week there is always so much different play and learning occurring even though it's in the same place.  We walk and explore, find rope swings, mud slides and lot so bugs and differnt plants, read signs and listen to the birds.

We climb fallen trees and crawl through small tunnels which mean we had to trust, be brave to try new things and challenge ourselves, we have to be patient to wait for a turn and always be looking for a place to put our hands and feet.

Imaginary play has included the seven little pigs finding their house of sticks and running as fast as they could away from the Big Bad Wolf!  We walk the long loop track of 2.3km which takes us about an hour.
