Outside FUN at BestStart Taradale
Here at BestStart Taradale, our outside learning environment is changing daily to provide many new learning opportunities for our Tamariki. Our environment inspires our young children's intrinsic sense of care, wonderment, and curiosity through exploration and respect for our natural world.
We believe in the use of the environment as the third teacher to evoke imagination. Playing outside gives your child the chance to explore the natural environment and have adventures. Your child can play games, test their physical limits, express themselves, and build their self-confidence. Throughout these activities, our toddlers learn to work alongside each other and develop their social skills.
Having a range of teachers to support their individual growth and development, our toddlers learn by doing. Our Early Childhood Curriculum states, “Children learn through play: by doing, asking questions, interacting with others, devising theories about how things work and then trying them out and by making purposeful use of resources.”
We are looking forward to more sunny days here at BestStart Taradale, as Vitamin D aids in immune system development, strong bone and muscle growth, and even allows our bodies to heal more efficiently. It has also proven to play a big role in helping us establish healthy sleep cycles and mood stabilization. Our bodies require regular sun exposure to produce Vitamin D, and children who play outside produce ample amounts of it.
