Painting and drawing activities in the centre are very popular in both the infant and toddler room and in the pre school room.

In the infant and toddler room tamariki have the opportunity to experience paint in numerous ways such as painting with brushes using the easel, hand painting on paper and even exploring frozen paint. These experiences support hand eye coordination and is an introduction to textures.

In the preschool room drawing promotes early literacy skills such as finger and hand strength, pencil grasp and hand dominance. Tamariki use drawing experiences to support their creativity, communication, problem solving, concentration and imagination.
