We celebrated Matariki with our annual Matariki Parent and Whanau evening. Every year we celebrate the end of Matariki with a hangi. We have made this a centre wide community experience, where some of our whanau come in and help with prepping the vegetables and other kai for the evening , we also get our tamariki involved in this process to give them ownership of our big celebration. We spent the weeks leading up to this evening talking about Matariki with our tamariki and learning as much as we can about our special Maori New Year with lots of different activities and stories. 

Our vision here are BestStart Peachgrove is Nurture the seed, here we see our vision coming to life through nurturing our relationships with our whanau and nurturing our cultures within our centre. 

We look forward to our annual Matariki evening every year and they never disappoint! Everyone left with a full puku and a smile on their face!!
