Physical challenges in the nursery
Within the Nursery the tamariki have been wanting to challenge themselves physically.
To support the children in extending their gross motor skills we have set up many different obstacle courses using soft obstacles, ladders and balance beams.
To support the children in extending their fine motor skills, hand-eye co-ordination and concentration we have provided a stand up post box with cards and smaller objects and we have also made a posting activity out of cookie time buckets and using small sticks.
We have supported the children by using demonstration, praise and encouragement to help them to achieve their goals and they have amazed us with their progress.
