In February we celebrated Anti-Bullying Day by wearing pink shirts and other pink clothing items. We engaged tamariki and kaiako in conversation about our feelings and how the actions of others, both positive and negative can make us feel. We talked about what these feelings feel like in our bodies.

Tamariki spoke about having 'butterflies in their tummy' and 'sore tummies' when they are feeling sad and upset. At BestStart Totara Park we talk openly and honestly about our feelings and the feelings of others daily, supporting our tamariki to be self aware, to learn to self regulate, develop empathy, show consideration for others feelings as well as build strong communication and social skills.

At BestStart Totara Park, every day is Anti-Bullying Day!
