May 2023! We celebrated Pink Shirt Day here at BestStart Dinsdale. Pink Shirt day is all about raising awareness and standing up and speaking out against bullying! By taking part in Pink Shirt day we are helping to stamp out bullying by celebrating diversity and promoting kindness and inclusion. We celebrated this day - with of course, all dressing in our pink shirts, We also spent the weeks leading up to it decorating our own pink shirts, drawing pictures and reading books on kindness and getting the tamariki to discuss what kindess means to them, and how they can show kindness to others. Our vision at Dinsdale is Nurture the seed, and it will Grow. Pink shirt day is a great way for us to be living and breathing our vision. Nurturing and supporting our tamariki and kaiako to ensure they feel safe and comfortable within our centre, that their well being is nurtured and protected and they are kept safe from harm. 

We love Pink Shirt day, and we look forward to celebrating this yearly!
