Pipe Cleaner Pull
In the Nursery here at BestStart Parkside a learning experience involving pipe cleaners and colanders was introduced to the children. As soon as the pipe cleaners and colander’s were placed on the table the children came straight over to it to see what all the bright colours were about. The children did very well at picking the pipe cleaners up and putting them through the holes of the colanders.
This learning experience is great for; pincer grip, fine motor development, and hand-eye coordination. Throughout this experience I talked to the children about the colours of the pipe cleaners and how close they were to getting the pipe cleaners into the holes, as well as labeling the verbs ‘pull’ and ‘push’ throughout this experience.
