Planting at Primrose
The tamariki worked alongside kaiako to dig, smooth out, place the tyres , and spread the Bark chips evenly. we spoke about how we plan to look after our trees, ensuring they have plenty of sunshine and water. We discussed what we might do with our yummy healthy fruit when our trees start fruiting. The tamariki had some great ideas such as flavouring water with citrus slices and baking fruit muffins. During this experience tamariki also built on social competence skills, patience and turn taking as lots of children wanted a turn to plant our garden. We are really proud of our end product, but the journey of getting there was so much more fun
