We have been working alongside Kids Greening Taupo for nearly two years now and have been learning all about how to respect and take care of our environment. Kids Greening Taupo are encouraging the planting of more native trees within our community. We really wanted to be involved in this and are super excited to announce that we are now responsible for taking care of and planting native trees in our own little area at Spa Park! We organised a trip to our area with the help of whanau and Sian from Kids greening Taupo. The tamariki were so excited to go on the bus and plant some trees together. Sian showed us how to carefully plant our trees and other native plants to ensure they grow big and strong. We planted 30 native plants before sitting down and enjoying some yummy kai together. We then went on a fun bug and scavenger hunt where we found some spiders! We are excited to regularly visit and take care of the area we planted. This is such an amazing programme to be a part of and we feel very special to have our own little area within our community that we can take care and nurture!
