At BestStart Huntington, before we were thrown into this isolation, I had a huge bunch of children helping me to create this beautiful garden for our community. Corn, broccoli, cauliflower and more, we gently parted the dirt, created a position for all our plants and gently watered them. During this experience we talked about the plants, their roots and what plants need to grow. It will be amazing to see what we have once we return to our beautiful centre!

Gardening engages all senses, encourages healthy eating, enhances fine motor development, introduces children to scientific processes, encourages responsibility, gardening teaches patience and mathematical skills and all while encouraging our tamariki to care about others in their community!
