Planting seedlings
The children in the Junior Kindy Room had a lovely learning time in the Garden with Janet one of our grandparents this week.
The children learnt about planting seedlings, how to care for them and what lovely crops we will be able to harvest in the near future. The children continue to care for the plants and when they are big enough our parents and community members can come and help themselves to homegrown, organic vegetables!
This was a wonderful learning experiences for our children to learn about nature, paptuanuku, seasons, healthy eating and caring for plants as they grow. This is an ongoing project for the children and we look forward to harvesting and using in our cooking over the next few months.
