As part of our Term 3 whānau hui, we hosted a Platter Chatter Night to bring families, kaiako and tamariki together in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Parents were invited to sit with their child’s portfolio teacher, reflect on their learning journey and share aspirations for the upcoming term. These conversations provided space to celebrate achievements, strengthen understanding of each child’s progress and set new learning goals for Term 4.
Parents’ voices and aspirations are an important part of shaping teaching practice and ensuring that children’s learning pathways are meaningful and connected to home. This evening also aligns with our centre priorities of actively involving whānau in their child’s learning.
It supports our BestStart annual strategic plan, which focuses on building strong, led partnerships with families to enhance belonging, engagement and wellbeing.
The combination of shared kai, open dialogue and genuine connection created a positive atmosphere where learning was celebrated and future goals were inspired.
We thank all our whānau for their valuable contributions. Together, we continue to nurture confident, connected and engaged tamariki. “Nāu te rourou, nāku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi.” — With your food basket and my food basket, the people will thrive.
