We are lucky enough to have been allocated funds to upgrade our old tired playground!
This is currently taking place and many of our whaanau would have seen the workers and their equipment onsite at the centre.
The tamariki are enjoying watching the changes take place, although it has caused some major disruptions to their play space. With a lot less space for outdoor play and exploration, kaiako have had to get creative and think of innovative ways to engage the tamariki.
They have created a climbing course indoors for those who love the challenges this offers. They have organised excursions to the local park, so that our busy, active explorers can get out their running, chasing, and ball kicking needs as they need to, and they are offering fun, engaging, and educational experiences inside that the tamariki can engage with and learn from.
Those with a passion for diggers, trucks and construction are able to watch, listen and learn at the fence, as the workers use their equipment to remove old structures, create new areas of play and install all new structures for them to explore in the coming weeks.
We hope you will come along with us on this new adventure as we open this new area in the coming weeks.
