Here at BestStart Kelvin Street we participate in an annual Plunket fundraiser every March. This year we decided to do a whole week of fun activities and games for both tamariki and whānau to be involved in. We had a fun teddy's bear picnic on the Monday, with shared kai | food with our favourite teddies.

We had lots of fun competitions on the Tuesday and Wednesday, including "guess how many jellybeans in the jar" and "vote for the teacher you want to see get splashed!". "Pop the balloon" was also a favourite raffle prize with a great prize donation for a food voucher from one of our very own families. Finally, a raffle with two food prize packs to be won. Throughout the week our tamariki also enjoyed blue themed activities like painting, playdough, messy & water play and to end the week off, a fun disco day where we all dressed up in blue! In total we raised $278 to go towards Plunket.

Participating in fundraisers and activities like these allows our tamariki the chance to learn all about the importance of giving to others within their own communities, to be able to develop strong tuakana-teina relationships with the local agencies and be a part of a positive change that impacts them and their learning directly - well done everyone!
