Po Kura/ School Night
Some of our tamariki are heading off to kura/school later on in the year and some of our whānau have been asking about what schools we would recommend in our local area. To answer these questions we hosted a whānau kura/school night at Kilbirnie Community Centre on the 1st September where we invited all of the local schools to come and introduce themselves to our whānau. Jan, our Head Teacher here at Best Start Rongotai, led a presentation of how we support their tamariki to become ‘school ready’ in the centre and then handed over to the local schools to share a little bit about their philosophy and what they offer. Our whānau really appreciated the night and the opportunity to connect with the local kura. The principles also said how great it was to be able to come together in one place and meet some of the whānau at one event. This is definitely an event we will do again in the New Year.
