As part of our focus on Kindness and Aroha, this month we visited Bupa care home, Remuera with a group of tamariki. This was a good opportunity for us to extend our love, kindness and compassion to the wider community in a meaningful way.

We presented our favourite waiata’s and dance before the residents. We also wished them  merry Christmas and a Happy New year. Then we handed the special cookies and the cards that we made for them.  We brought smiles and happiness to the resident’s minds through our little act of kindness and love and in turn we were overjoyed with the welcome we received and the love they showed us. It was ‘mana’ enhancing for all of us.

We also celebrated our end of the year, Christmas party this month. It was indeed a celebration of, a year of success, learning and joy despite the lockdowns and unexpected events.

Our day was tremendous fun with most families attending, shared kai, balloon twisting, games and more. We bid farewell to 2020 with a lot of gratitude and love for our tamariki, whanau and the whole team at BestStart Meadowbank for working together in unity rising to the challenges due to the pandemic and emerging even stronger.

We now welcome another fantastic year of  working with the children and families/community, learning and growing together!
