Over the past couple of months, the tamariki have been recognising and practicing manaakitanga / kindness, ss well as learning the routines and rules of our classroom so that we have a safe, fun, and happy learning environment.  Recently we also been then giving and seeing kindness in the community by donating food to the food bank and SPCA as well as making a wreath for Peacehaven and giving them 10 puzzles.

Through these experiences the children learnt that kindness is a positive behaviour that involves showing concern and care for others. Kindness can be demonstrated through actions such as helping others, being considerate of others' feelings, and showing empathy.

Kindness can improve relationships and create a more positive and supportive community.  As children learn about kindness, they may develop an understanding of the role that emotions play in our interactions with others and may learn how to identify and regulate their own emotions.

Overall, learning about kindness can help children develop social and emotional skills that will serve them well throughout their lives.  We hope that over the Christmas period and summer that you see, receive and give kindness to all.

MERRY CHIRSTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
