Preparing for Christmas!
Art experiences are a great way to promote creativity in children. This is where children learn to think outside the box and be innovative.
It also encourages and builds on their fine motor skills - by gripping objects, mixing colours and cutting with scissors. For pre-schoolers, scribbling, making lines and shapes is a process closer to learning how to write.
Not only that, children learn to problem-solve. By working together children get to know their friends, make choices, share and take turns while using the resoruces avaiable to them.
And most improtantly, "art materials provide a safe outlet for emotions" - so that children are able to express themselves in a multidimentional way. This is a way that words may not be able to do, or that may be more comfortable for them than words (The Artful Parent, 2020, pg. 1)
