Our Preschool Explorers’ first trip of the year was filled with wonder, learning, and laughter at Butterfly Creek. From spotting insects to riding the train, tamariki shared the joy with whānau, making it a truly unforgettable start to 2025.

What a way to kick off the year! Our Preschool Explorers at BestStart Papakura went on their very first trip of 2025 — and it was nothing short of magical.

Thanks to the incredible planning by Whaea Jotika and the support of our awesome Kawakawa team, our tamariki were treated to a day full of discovery, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Inspired by their growing interest in bugs and insects, we headed to Butterfly Creek, where the adventure began the moment we hopped on the bus. Teachers kept the excitement alive with conversations that carried over from the centre, building anticipation for what was to come.

Once we arrived, the fun truly took off! Our tamariki explored the butterfly house, spotted creepy crawlies, and even came face-to-face with dinosaurs. The train ride through the tunnel was a definite highlight — there were giggles, wide eyes, and plenty of storytelling as we zoomed through.

But what made this trip extra special? Whānau involvement. Having loved ones join us turned a great day into an extraordinary one. The joy on our children’s faces as they shared their experiences with their families was priceless.

It was a celebration of connection, curiosity, and community. We wrapped up the day by reflecting on our favourite moments, hearing valuable insights from parents, and dreaming up ideas for our next big adventure.

This is just the beginning for our Preschool Explorers — there’s so much more to discover, and we can’t wait to see where the journey takes us next!
