Preschool's Trip to Auckland Zoo

Our tamariki in BestStart Coastal's Pukeko Preschool room have been extremely interested in living creatures, creating their own masterpieces and constructing their own zoos! During our mat time one afternoon they decided that we MUST go for an adventure to the Auckland Zoo and we needed to get there by bus! So off we set on our adventure, with our backpacks, lunch, their maps that they had designed, our walking shoes and parent helpers all ready to explore! We joined Zoo Keeper Kirsty for an educational session and learnt all the wonderful roles of a modern zoo, she shared a story, we got to dress up, practised our Te Reo Maori with her, created our own role play and even had a sneaky visit from one of the zoo’s bearded dragon! We had such an amazing day, with more than a few shattered wee souls that made the most of the quiet time on our trip back to preschool.

I wonder where the tamariki will take us next??
