The Babies Cottage teachers know how much our children love stories so we thought we would re-enact our favourite story - 'We're going on a bear hunt." Morgan brought in her bear onesie and we all went outside to start off by reading the story.

Once we finished reading the story we set off for our bear hunt. We went up through the long wavy grass, made our way through the deep cold river and through thick oozy mud, we got to the forest and stumbled and tripped all the way through. Next we came up to a snow storm and nearly got blown away. Then came the cave we tip toe crawled through and found our friendly bear Morgan who chased us back home.

During this experience we were learning how to use our imaginations and be creative. Re-enacting stories also helps to build understandings of characters and what happens in the story.
