Reaping the Rewards

At the end of 2021 the children helped plants some seeds in our little garden. Over the year the children have been helping looking after the garden by watering the plants and caring for it regularly. 

The Tamariki have learned responsibility and the concept of cause and effect. Nurturing a plant from seed to harvest has helped them to develop a sense of self confidence. They can see and even eat the literal fruits of their labor. 

Growing something, themselves also helps create an understanding of what goes into making the food that ends up on their dinner plates. these connections provide opportunity on topics like nutrition and healthy eating.
