Reflecting on the year we've had!
What a whirlwind year it has been, we are now at Matariki, our Maori New Year. It has been such a pleasure welcoming our whānau into our centre, and celebrating the milestones that we have had this year. However, most importantly, it was a time to show appreciation and be thankful for the people that has gotten us to where we are today.
Nā to rourou, nā taku rourou, ka ora ai te iwi – with your food basket and my food basket, the people will prosper. Together, we are able to get to where we are now, and by working together, we can help each other reach further milestones. At Beststart Ascot, this is what we celebrate each and every day; knowing that we have each other and that we can reach great heights together, rather than prosper individually.
So many things happen each day, some little but impactful. A gesture can be as simple as saying hello with a smile to someone, or as large as guiding them through their learning that day. Nonetheless, we are helped together by family, friends, and strangers alike. What was a kind gesture that someone has done to lift your day I wonder?
