At BestStart Albany we are empowering our tamariki to learn to build their relationships and to care for others. Their relationships and the skills to show empathy, care and love are important skills to learn from young age. At BestStart Albany, the tamariki have an opportunity to learn side by side with their younger and older friends, learning from each other and caring for each other. These relationships bring children a sense of belonging and competence.
They learn that they have a place in their environment, and that their part is crucial when it comes to supporting their friends well- being.
Loving, stable and responsive relationships are fundamental to children's development. Through relationships, children learn how to think, understand, communicate, behave, express emotions and develop social skills.
