Risk Taking is Learning
We believe children are active learners - the way in which the environment is set influences how a child will engage, play, and learn.
We encourage and support risk taking in our outdoor space. Children are encouraged to climb, balance and jump from heights. In their play they incorporate risk in their imaginary play.
We notice children push themselves to take on new risk, practicing new skills until they achieve their goals. They are building their self-confidence and developing their physical skills.
Our outdoor environment is wonderful for this learning as children climb trees, play on our high boxes, tree swings and challenge themselves with their peers.
