Road Safety
Ah, December, a time to ponder the year and to make goals and plans for the next. It has been a busy month of celebrations, artwork, whanau nights, and of course, Christmas Christmas Christmas! As the hustle and bustle of Christmas slowly settles, we have been able to make use of the wonderful days through having Wheels Day. It was a wonderful time to remind our tamariki the importance of sharing, of road safety, and of being kind and considerate to all those around us.
The tamariki brought in their set of wheels from home along with their helmets, and we were able to make use of our big outdoors area for some races, some 'slow' drives to the shops and some good ol 'Auckland traffic jam'. The children learnt about sharing the road, they learnt about signalling, road signs, to slow down around curves and to watch out for pedestrians. It was great hearing them communicate and to express themselves in a range of ways!
We are so excited to welcome the Christmas break knowing that the tamariki understand the importance of road safety and that they will keep their parents' driving in check! So, drive safe, play safe, and we look forward to seeing everyone in 2021 for a new and better chapter!
