Scavenger Hunt Fun
At BestStart Omokoroa it was a great day for a scavenger hunt in our Kereru garden. We used scavenger hunt checklists with pictures and words of natural resources from Papatuanuku (earth mother).
There was so much learning and discovery happening as the children searched and discussed what they'd found.
Our teachers are always looking for different ways to include learning literacy and numeracy skills and develop these through activities. These skills encourage the tamariki to become intrinsically motivated to use their cognitive skills and find the objects they're looking for. This is just one of the activities that was in our fantastic School Holiday programme.
