School Holiday Fun
During these school holidays at Best Start Herewini Street, we've had so much fun exploring our environment and enjoying a variety of different experiences with our tamariki to foster their sense of wonder and develop their learning.
Our kaiako set up engaging activities - we've had a pirate-themed dress-up day with crafts and a treasure hunt around our wonderful, natural playground. We had a messy play day where our children enjoyed the immersive, sensory experiences of slime, gloop, and finger-painting.
They loved the potion-making day - the possibilities were endless as our children concocted their own creations and discovered the wonders of science as they experimented with color, liquid, and form. On decorate-your-own-biscuit day our tamariki enjoyed a selection of delicious, pastel icings to dab, dot, and top with sprinkles - what a lovely mid-week treat.
Today our children created their own kebabs with fresh, seasonal fruit which develops their fine motor skills and coordination while giving them choices over their own kai.
