School Holiday Programme Fun
During July our special BestStart Kelvin Grove holiday programme provided the children with lots of fun activities.
We had wacky hair day, which saw some children coming in with painted hair and all different kinds of wacky styles.
We had wheels day, which is always fun and exciting to bring a bit of the children's home life to daycare.
We made salt dough and salt dough hand prints. Children go to use their senses by tasting some of the ingredients and to use their hands to feel and mix the ingredients.
We had a very fun and successful grandparents day in both the morning and afternoon. Grandparents were welcomed with a beautiful spread of cakes and slices made by the centre cook Jo as well as a hot drink. They also got to take home some yummy shortbread biscuits made by the children. Children and grandparents got messy with hand print paintings, there was so much laughter I'm not sure who had more fun the adults or the children.
We also had a teddy bears picnic for morning tea with children bringing in their own special beloved Teddy's from home. We had a PJ day, messy play, and baking day as well. It was great to see the children engaged in all the activities and even better children shared some of those experiences with their families.
