School Readiness
Ensuring our Tamariki are well prepared and ready for school is important to us here at BestStart Tauranga Central.
School readiness learning experiences are intertwined throughout our daily activities. As children get closer to their school starting date, we focus our encouragement by supporting them to develop skills and competencies to provide a smooth and positive transition to their primary education.
By using BestStart’s ‘Be School Ready’ initiative framework and making links between Te Whariki (ECE) and the New Zealand Curriculum (Primary), we provide children with learning opportunities that challenge them to develop early literacy, science and numeracy skills and knowledge, further refine their pro-social and communication skills, and foster independence and confidence.
