At BestStart Rongotai, we take play seriously. We are all about nurturing our tamariki (children) as active and inquisitive explorers. Our tamariki enjoy a variety of activities at our centre that provoke scientific and critical thinking as well as fuel children’s natural curiosity. Activities are usually guided by kaiako (children) and followed with questions and prompts that help children develop their scientific thinking skills.

Children are also encouraged to ask questions about their environment as well as to have a sense of wonder. Our kaiako work with each tamaiti to support their progress and offer developmentally appropriate activities.
