Science Day Fun
During the April school holidays the Koru room at BestStart Judea jumped at the opportunity to participate in the centre school holiday programme. A highlight of our programme so far has been science day. We are aware tamariki are naturally curious about their surrounding world and this encourages tamariki to gravitate towards hands on experiences. A well planned science day saw Kaiako creating fun and age-appropriate science activities for the tamariki to explore and to investigate.
Two science day activities on offer for children included gloop a simple combination of corn flour and water. Also a fun cause and effect moment of mixing vinegar and baking soda together to spark wonder and excitement. It was interesting observing tamariki building on their thinking and reasoning skills, investigation techniques and problem-solving skills while exploring. Tamariki and kaiako participation made this day interesting and exciting for all. We are looking forward to joining future holiday activities.
