Science Experimentation with bugs!
Tamariki at Johnstones Rd Kindy have incorporated the Science interest into different aspects of their curriculum by focusing on butterflies, bugs, many other science experiments.
It all began when a few of our tamariki found the cockroach and started to examine the body parts of the insect. To support that interest, we started introducing the cased Butterflies. Clearly, our tamariki love all living things and they were intrigued to see how butterflies look like open looking through the magnifiers and examine different colours. This was a great opportunity for our tamariki to strengthen their dispositions, to be curious about natural phenomena, to focus and persevere, to inquire, to solve problems, and to work collaboratively.
