During this week we have been doing lots of fun activities with the tamariki.

On Monday we created turtles. The tamariki decorated their turtles, using different colored paints and glitter. We then displayed these on the wall and they look amazing! On Tuesday we set up the splash pad and sang "Slippery Fish" as the children jumped into the splash pad pretending to be sea animals. As you can see by the photo, the children had a blast!

On Wednesday we got creative again and made some fish, the children used more paints to decorate their fish. Once the fish were dry we hung them up and pretended to go fishing, the children enjoyed catching their fish.

On Thursday we read Pania of the Reef, linking Sea Week to our local legend, we used props to tell the story, and the children thoroughly enjoyed the props.

Finally, for our last day of the week, we sang waiata with the tamariki, the tamariki enjoyed singing and dancing to "kina kina" "one day a Taniwha" and "slippery fish". It has been a wonderful week exploring and learning about the sea with the tamariki. Nga mihi Koru room team.
