Our Toddler Room at BestStart Kelvin Grove has been busy exploring a range of sensory experiences. Our tamariki are enjoying exploring the sense of touch with the feel of water running through their fingers, squishing gloop so that it becomes solid and then liquid in their hands and the the various textures around our environment.  At our musical mat times we are exploring the sense of sound using a range of musical instruments, singing and sounds.  And at meal times, our kaiako are encouraging tamariki to describe what they are of tasting. So many opportunities for sensory exploration. We have noticed it has created a calming affect on our tamariki as they inquire into the world around them.
