This morning I arrived into the classroom with some plastic eggs of various sizes and colours. The children watched with anticipation as I filled the different eggs with a range of sensory inputs especially a variety of noises, shapes, colours, and weights. They helped me to make sure I had sealed each egg tightly before popping it into the basket.

The children were so keen to hold, mouth and explore the eggs; rolling, shaking, and tapping each one they selected from the basket.

They discovered that the eggs made a lovely range of sounds when shaken and created lots of excitement as the items inside the eggs tumbled and turned as they rolled and shook them.

Now they have had the opportunity to explore the sensory sound eggs by themselves, I wonder what new sounds they might be able to make by posting them into a container?
