In the Explorer's room at BestStart Marne Street, we've been immersing ourselves in a diverse array of sensory experiences tailored to our local room planning. Sensory play, which engages all of your child's senses - touch, smell, sight, sound, and taste - is a cornerstone of our curriculum, fostering exploration, curiosity, problem-solving, and creativity.

Our little explorers have delighted in a variety of sensory trays, with one favorite being our dinosaur-themed tray. Complete with sand, water, cornflour gloop, rocks, dinosaurs, plants, and driftwood, this immersive experience captivated their imaginations as they eagerly explored the different textures.

For moments of tranquility and relaxation, we introduced a soothing foot spa experience. Infused with the calming scent of lavender, the spa filled the air with a gentle aroma, while delicate flower petals tickled their toes, offering yet another sensory delight. Soft, serene music played in the background, further soothing their senses, while the warm water enveloped and comforted their feet, and smooth stones provided a gentle massage.

As we bid farewell to summer, we celebrated with a joyous water day. Tamariki and whānau joined in the fun, bringing an assortment of ice cubes filled with flowers, petals, bugs, leaves, pine cones, sticks, and bark. It was a delight to watch the children share and explore these treasures as they melted in the water trays.

These sensory experiences have been a hit with our Explorer tamariki, enabling them to further understand and connect with the world around them. We're thrilled to continue providing these enriching opportunities for exploration and discovery.
