Sensory Fun in the Kindy Room!

It has been a busy month here in the Kindy Room, we've been busy investigating a strong interest in sensory exploration. Tamariki have thoroughly enjoyed learning new skills as they explore and investigate through sensory materials. Some of the sensory activities we have explored are coloured salt, frozen fairy dust, sand, water, playdough and art collage.

During these sensory experiences, tamariki are learning to work alongside each other and strengthening their communication skills and positive social skills. By taking part in these small group experiences tamariki are learning to use trial and error when investigating their ideas and exploring their curiosity through different materials by discovering how they work. Tamariki love using a ‘hands on’ approach when it comes to exploring their passion for all things sensory!
