Sensory Painting with different colours
What an exciting month it was for our tamariki at Murphy’s Park as the children explored different colours and textures of paint. Open ended resources were laid out to allow the tamariki to express their ideas freely through the use of their art form. The kaiako setup sensory paint bags, painting with cars, outdoor easel art, balloon and pebble painting activities which empowered the children to develop their hand eye co-ordination.
These activities provided the children with a platform to use their art form to make connections with their family and the wider world around them. We observed the deep engagement of tamariki with their painting art. Alongside the development of fine motor skills, our confident little explorers were able to extend their learning by smudging paint on their tiny hands and faces. The curious learners brought all their senses to use to observe the brightly coloured paint.
