Sensory Play excitement!
Exploring different textures through play, including sensory or messy play, is a sociable activity, so naturally, it will enrich relationships through social interaction.
Tamariki needs a range of sensory experiences. They provide opportunities for fine motor and hand-eye coordination, and creativity, and allow children to develop motor skills and social skills.
As many of our young children can't explain things verbally, it allows them to share their discoveries in different ways through the use of non-verbal communication and facial expressions. To do this, they need to think through their actions so they can communicate this explanation which also helps develop their cognition.
It also gives our tamariki a chance to practice processing information. Involves the senses. Allows children to experience new sensations in a safe, fun environment.
