Over the last few weeks here at BestStart Barrington, there has been a growing interest in sensory play in our new Kindy Room. Our children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring different textures and how these materials move and feel in their hands. Our children have had many opportunities to explore an array of materials including salt, powder paint, dye, water and sand. We also added bugs, transportation toys and a variety of utensils so children could investigate, experiment and develop their working theories. Sensory play allows children to develop their communication skills, language skills, fine/gross motor skills and problem-solving skills whilst connecting with other children.
