At BestStart Greerton we have been learning about sharing with our peers. The children have been watching their teachers role modelling how to share and now they all take opportunities to do this. Taking turns with resources that are special or unique, encourages sharing and the opportunity to learn from each other. We have been practising how we can be responsible for our environment and keeping things tidy. The children are helping each other to put things away when they have finished, this ensures our tamariki are taking responsibility for their own belongings and keeping us all safe. Our environment is a pleasant place to be and we can all get creative with our awesome construction equipment.

We have been exploring some skill-based activities, practising using manipulation and fine motor abilities. These are often very precise activities, using tongs to transfer items from one bowl to another. Practising rotation to take lids on or off. Posting toothpicks into tiny holes. Matching coloured sticks with the right coloured spot. We are all having fun learning with and alongside our peers.
